In Pakistani tradition, you have to give dowry if your daughter get married.Mostly, it consist of household appliances, household furnitures, beddings, house decors,plates, pans , cutleries all kitchen things, clothes, gold(jewelry sets), gifts to the inlaws(in the form of clothes/jewelries,etc.), and sometimes if the bride's family is very rich, even a house & lot and a car is also provided.The bridal dress is mostly adorned with embroidery using gold wires,precious stones and beads.

@ Luna Miranda Luckily, I have 3 sons.Yes, parents start saving for their daughter's marriage even they are still babies.I saw my inlaws, buying things and keeping in storeroom....for their daughter's future....as they say :).
ReplyDelete@ Lina Gustina As I saw, the "poor" bride wears a dress adorned with artificial gold wires and stones.They also uses artificial jewelries.The dowries are not much because they are married to men in the same caste.Here, it is arranged marriage.Rich married to the rich also especially, within the family.Women from poor families are doing jobs so they can afford to buy their dowries.
